In June 2004 John had his first book, an epic poem entitled ‘ The Iron Bridge’ published and performed and in March 2005 released his fourth album, ‘ Common Ground’.In the same month two songs he co wrote with pianist Ian Sainsbury, ‘Leaving Without Leaving’ and ‘She’s Got a Closet Full of Clothes (but she’s got nothing to wear)’ were recorded and released by top Eagles tribute band ‘Talon’ on their album ‘Better Than Before’. Mario Price: John has a reputation as a fine solo performer but often works with outstanding vionlist Mario Price. A talented musician since childhood, Mario’s inventive improvisation and sensitive harmonies are a wonderful accompaniment to John’s songs. The audience also adore Mario’s ferocious jigs and reels, stirring Gypsy music and swinging jazz tunes, all played with a mixture of Welsh/Italian passion. Mario features heavily on John’s albums, ‘Water On The Stone’ , ‘Waking Dreams’ and ‘ Common Ground’ . Most recenty he has broadened their sound by playing double bass on some songs. |
Together they make a truly exciting, foot-stomping duo and often form
